Hydra equipped graphics card available

Powercolor's HD 5770 Evolution stirred up some attention back when it showed up at Games Convention in August and it looks like it finally found its way into retail/e-tail as Alternate.de is currently selling the card for €149,90. In case you missed it, the Powercolor HD 5770 Evolution is the first and only card that comes with Lucid's Hydra chip.

The idea behind the HD 5770 Evolution is that you should be able to pair it up with any other card, regardless of whether it's AMD's or Nvidia's. The rest of the specs are pretty much the same as with any other HD 5770 on the market, as it has reference clocks, 1GB of GDDR5 memory and DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI outputs.

The card is definitely interesting and we are quite sure that some buyers will like the idea that they can pair it up with any other card, even the one that they currently own. The Hydra chip makes it a perfect candidate for a sweet spot upgrade, and if this one ends up to be any good, we guess that we might see a HD 6000 series card with similar features in future.

If you happen to buy one, make sure to tell us your impressions. You can find it listed here.
