Cebit 2009: Faster chip

We learned
that ATI's upcoming performance card, codenamed RV790, is going to rely on the 55nm production process.

The way we understand it, this is a slightly improved version of the original RV770 chip and it is supposed to give ATI a bit better position until the 40nm performance card arrive.

The 40nm performance card is still a thing of the future, at least for the time being, while the RV740 should be launching at some point in Q2 time.

We are still not aware of Nvidia's 40nm performance card, but we would be surprised to see it before Q3 2009.
