AMD is going to launch its rescue plan CPU, while Nvidia will
launch its "get-the-performance-crown-back“ dual GT200b based GTX 295 card at CES 2009.
AMD is shipping Phenom II 940 at 3.0GHz and 2.8GHz clocked
Phenom II 925. The 3Ghz 940 witha $300 suggested retail price looks like a good
seller especially in a time of economic downturn. The CPU is listed as available
in Europe for €249.
Geforce GTX 295 is Nvidia’s big fast kid on the block and
this card will sell for $499 in the US of €499 in Europe. Should be available
today and we’ve heard that there is a healthy demand for the card
These are two top things that will happen at the show, and we
will mention 3D glasses and Windows 7 in separate parts as we’ve seen or heard
about both at the show. Stay tuned, we're just getting started
