CES 2010: No guarantees

Nvidia’s
highly anticipated next generation DirectX 11 child, codenamed Fermi has a big chance to ship in March. This is what several people have been telling us, but of course there are no any guarantees.

Nvidia’s CEO has said publicly that Fermi is in production and he already told investors that this chip should ship in Q1. Nvidia’s Fiscal Q1 starts in late January and ends in late April, so there is still some time for them, but with ATI shipping 2 million DirectX 11 parts so far, Nvidia has some serious catching up to do.

Of course Nvidia has to get back to its basic and starts taking better care of its core business, as with Tegras, Cuda, and Teslas they seem to have went a bit off course. Fermi somehow got delayed by six months and this is anything but good for Nvidia.
