And yes, it's a rebrand

Nvidia
has introduced its first 300 series graphics card, and to put it mildly, we're not impressed.

The Geforce G 310 is merely a rebranded Geforce G 210, which wasn't much too look at to begin with. The G 310 packs a 16-core GPU clocked at 589MHz and 512MB of DDR2 memory on a 64-bit memory bus. Did we already mention we're not impressed? One good thing about the G 310 is the choice of connectors, as it offers DisplayPort, DVI and VGA, as well as an HDMI adapter.

Frankly, we're baffled as to why Nvidia's would launch this thing as the first Geforce 300 series card ever. True, it is mainly targeted at OEMs and system integrators, but it's just bad press and this article is living proof. Perhaps they just got too tired from waiting for Fermi-based products and lowered their standards a bit.

Proper DirectX 11, 300 series cards should launch in Q1 2010, hopefully.
