Up to eight displays

If you think ATI's Eyefinity, with its multi-display support, is an impressive piece of kit, then the M9188 from Matrox is something that will really make your life a bit more complicated, as it comes with support for up to eight displays.

Matrox's new card uses PCI-Express x16 slot and features 2GB of memory. As this one will not impress you with its gaming capabilities, but it certainly will make those multi-display scenarios much easier thanks to eight Mini DisplayPort connectors with included DVI and DisplayPort adapters, as well as the support for resolutions of up to 2560x1600 per output.

Multiply that number by eight and you'll be quite impressed with what this card is capable to do, don't you think? If that is not enough for you, it is possible to use a pair of M9188 cards to get sixteen outputs and an even higher output resolution.

This card is made for professional monitoring environments and it comes with a professional price tag of US $1995. If this is too much for your budget, Matrox is preparing another one that will feature "only" Mini DP outputs and 1GB of memory with a US $259 price tag.
