Will be overclocked

In addition to the HD 5750 Vapor-X, Sapphire is going to roll out an HD 5870 Vapor-X card as well. This one was already shown to public during launch day, but only as a rendering, and according to news post over Legitreviews.com the card should show up in retail just in time for Christmas shopping spree.

Unlike the rendering which we saw a while back, the retail sample has a full shroud so the PCB will be entirely covered. It uses Sapphire's well known Vapor Chamber cooling which should provide lower temperatures and which has given Sapphire a slight overclocking headroom for the HD 5870.

The card will be slightly factory overclocked so the GPU will work at 870MHz, 20MHz higher than the reference card. The memory will be overclocked as well, so the 1GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with the 256-bit memory interface will end up clocked at 1250MHz (5.0GHz effective), a 50MHz (200MHz effective) higher than the reference card.
