Rich and colorful

Intel has used the term HD and linked it with its upcoming mainstream dual-core Nehalem architecture based CPU codenamed Clakdale. To spoil your high hopes, Intel didn’t say that its new dual-core with integrated graphics can play HD 720P or 1080P, it just said that Clarkdale offers a "Full set of media capabilities for a rich, colorful HD experience”

We suspect that this IGP again might end up too weak for everyone’s taste but Intel again promises enhanced HD media quality, 3D graphics and Premium audio.

We are quite sure that Quake 2 will run like a charm on Intel’s latest chipset, and most of the 5+ year old games should be at least playable.

We still miss many critical details about the chip’s performance to make any final judgment but we’ve been traditionally disappointed with Intel’s IGP that is mostly capable of playing non HD video and displaying a desktop. Everything else is usually too much for it.
