Earlier today we found some Sapphire HD 4890 listings, and now we found
a PowerColor card as well, confirming the clocks and price reported
earlier.
Both listed cards run at 850MHz for the core, which is 100MHz higher
than the RV770 based HD 4870. Memory has also been bumped up from
900MHz (3600MHz effective), to 975MHz (3900MHz effective). The stream
processor and texture unit count stays the same, 800 and 40 respectively.
Like Sapphire's card listed at Salland, the PowerColor is also priced at €260. This still seems a tad too high, as these days you can
get an HD 4870 for as little as €149. Either it will be a
rather costly card, or ATI managed to squeeze a lot more performance
out of it and plans to cash in.
