Guys from Expreview.com managed to get hold of pictures of Zotac's 55nm GTX 260, or as Zotac likes to call it, the Zotac GeForce GTX 260².

Zotac's card uses a blue PCB, and all the memory chips are moved to the front part of the PCB, so this time there won't be a heatspreader on the back. As for the rest of the PCB changes, the new card will feature a 4+2 VRM for GPU and memory, and the GPU itself features an aluminum support-brace around it. The GPU that was pictured few days ago is marked as a G200-103-B2, and according to the first informations the cooler is designed by Cooler Master. Zotac already has the GeForce GTX 260² named card which is an old 65nm 216 card, and this means that once these new 55nm cards hit the market, both 65nm and 55nm cards will have the same name.

According to the blog written by Theo Valich, ex-INQ/TG Daily hack, we could be expecting the 1.5GB version of the new GTX 260 as Nvidia simply wants to attack ATI's HD 4870 1GB card. We are still gathering info as this means that we could be seeing 3GB cards once the dual GTX 260 shows its face. The most interesting thing is that GTX 260 looks more and more like the old GTX 280, and we can't help but wonder what would happen to the GTX 280.
