Starting at €78, dual DisplayPort for €170

ATI isn't
giving Nvidia much breathing space in desktop graphics and thanks to four new FireGL cards, it's likely to mess things up for the green team in the professional market as well. We already wrote about the new FireGL's back in October, but now we've got the prices, and they sound great.

The new range starts at a pathetic €78 for the FirePro V3700, a ridiculously low price for a pro graphics card. However, in return you get an RV620 core at 600MHz and 256MB of GDDR3 memory at 800MHz.

The RV3750 is also on the way. It's a much more serious piece of hardware based on an RV730 core at 800MHz. It has 256MB of GDDR3 at 1000MHz and two DisplayPort connectors and sounds like a great deal at €170.

Next in line is the RV5700, also based on an RV730 core at 800MHz. It has 256MB of GDDR3 at 1000MHz and two DisplayPort connectors. It will retail at €470.

The V8700 is the daddy. Based on ATI's white knight, the RV770 XT GPU at 750MHz, it packs 1024MB of GDDR5 memory and should have enough muscle for serious users. Along with two DisplayPort connectors it also features a TV out, in case you're one of those old-fashioned people who like too see the end result of their toil on a regular TV. It is priced at just over €1200.

The new cards should be available in Europe in a matter of days.
