Low profile and Sapphire blue

The HD 4550/4350 launch day just wouldn't be a real launch day if one of the oldest and largest ATI AIB partners, Sapphire, didn't announce its own new cards. Sapphire's HD 4550/4350 will be low-profile and as you would expect from Sapphire, painted in blue.

The Sapphire HD 4550 works at reference 600MHz for the core and comes with 512MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 900MHz (1.8GHz effective). Unlike some AIB partners, Sapphire didn't go for the passive cooling solution on this one, so the new Sapphire HD 4550 will be cooled by a rather small fan with a blue heatsink, the one that we had a chance to previously see on some Sapphire cards.

Sapphire's HD 4350 card is a bit of a mystery as we don't have a picture of it, but we know that it works at 600MHz for the core and comes with "cost effective" DDR2 memory working at 400MHz (800MHz effective). According to the press release the features are similar to the Sapphire HD 4550 so we expect this one to be cooled by a same small fan/heatsink.

Both cards support DirectX 10.1, PCI-Express 2.0, CrossfireX, ATI's UVD 2 and, of course, HDMI support. Here are some pictures of the Sapphire HD 4550 card.
