ATI and partners quiet

Yesterday was the last day of Q3 2008 and ATI still doesn’t talk out loudly about its HD 4850 X2. Back in August, ATI people promised that Radeon HD 4850 X2 woulf be fast enough to beat GTX 280 and that it would come in late September.

Well, it didn’t appear when ATI said it would; and Radeon HD 4850 is nothing more than two RV770 Pros matched with some DDR3 memory.

Partners still don’t know when this card will launch and we can only hope it will be shortly. We don’t expect that it will be miraculously cheaper compared to the Radeon HD 4870 X2 card. We believe that ATI simply doesn’t have to launch such a card, but we believe that 4850 X2 should be way faster even than the new GTX 260 with 216 shaders.
