Taipei office looked like Lehman Brothers

We've learned
that a lot of people in Nvdia's Taiwan office got pink slips. Apparently, they suffered the biggest cut in the recent layoffs.

Our sources in Taiwan have confirmed that a large number of Nvidia Taiwan employees were made redundant. We suspect that the notebook chip packaging issue has been sinned by someone in Taiwan and that this might be the reason why they are getting the largest cuts, but at the same time we believe that is much easier to lay off people in Taiwan than in the U.S. or Europe, simply due to different labor laws.

Nvidia simply had to cut its labor force as it hasn’t done it for years, and especially as 2008 is not one of the greatest years for Nvidia. As one of our friends said, Nvidia got lazy and cocky and was punished by ATI, Intel and the notebook issue, but this is a good thing, since it will get them back in shape.
