Beware, ATI

We've learned that Nvidia is working hard to get its performance crown back. Nvidia is planning to introduce a few products that might change the game, but it doesn’t look that rosy for the green goblin.

The first projection are showing that if GT200 55nm as an optical shrink of GT200 65nm won’t have enough performance headroom to beat the Radeon HD 4870 X2, also well known as R700 card. No matter how high they clock, it might not be enough.

Nvidia might be adding some more horsepower to this chip and the thermals will be much better, which might imply that there is a change. GT200 55nm with more Shaders and some additional architectural adjustments might have a chance.

Currently, RV710 and RV730 will hit Nvidia the most, in entry and mainstream level, and this is where the volume sales are. These chips are going to hit the cash cow called Geforce 9500GT and 9400.
