Acer chairman J.T. Wand expects notebook shipments, revenues and profits to grow this quarter.
He is estimating notebook shipments in the second half will grow by 35
to 40 percent sequentially, and that overall shipments in 2009 will
grow 25 to 30 year-on-year. Wang expects the outfit to become the
largest notebook vendor in the world by 2010.
In related news, Wang has confirmed reports of panel supply issues
hindering the Timeline CULV-notebook launch, but claims Acer has found
a new panel supplier and that the issue will be resolved soon.
