EA's chief technical officer complains

EA Games  chief technical officer Glenn Entis says that computer games need to become more realistic.

Speaking to the computer graphics conference,  Siggraph, Entis said that game developers should pay attention not only to the visual part of their projects, but also maintain overall realism of the game.

He said that worlds must not just look lifelike, they need to react in a realistic manner too.

Characters need to be more 'human' and special attention should be paid to characters animation. He said they should not only look real, but also move realistically.

Gaming fans are not impressed by a large number of polygons,  they want an AI, smart enough to make the player forget for a second there that he or she is dealing with a computer-controller character.
