Busy day for Apple

Hot on the heels of the new iMac, the Mac mini has also been upgraded and it now features a Core 2 Duo processor at 1.83 or 2GHz. It also comes with 1GB of memory as standard, something it should've done from day one. For $599 or €599 (yes, we get screwed in Europe again) you get the 1.83GHz CPU and an 80GB hard drive, while $799 or €779 gets you the faster CPU and a 120GB drive. There's also a 160GB drive option and a 2GB memory upgrade available.

The new Apple keyboard will set you back $49 or €49 and it has two USB 2.0 ports and some new extra buttons for various usage, such as display brightness, optical disc ejection and some quick launch features. However, there's also a smaller version with Bluetooth 2.0, but this one lacks the numerical keypad and it costs $79 or €79.

The Mac Pro has been given a PCI Express RAID card option, which has 256MB of cache and a 72h battery backup. It supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 0+1 and something Apple calls enhanced JBOD. It's an extra $999 or €989 if you want one at time of purchase, plus drives of course.

Finally the AirPort Extreme has been upgraded with Gigabit Ethernet on all ports, including the WAN port, which is a nice upgrade to an already overpriced router.
