Cebit 2010: ION2 based XS35

Although
at a glance most would just see a fancy optical drive, we can assure you that this is a full fledged PC, as Shuttle showcased its XS35 to the general public.

The XS35 features Intel’s 45nm dual-core Atom D510, a.k.a. Pineview-D, which runs at 1.66GHz and has 1024kB of L2 cache. XS35 comes with integrated, HD-compatible GPU and HDMI interface, courtesy of Nvidia’s GT218 (a.k.a. ION2) which features 512MB of DDR3.

This little-big device supports one module DDR2-667/800 SO-DIMM of up to maximum 2GB. It comes with a SATA DVD writer and a SATA hard disk or SATA SSD in 2.5" format.

The device features digital HDMI out (DVI via adapter), VGA out, audio line out and microphone input and routes digital audio via HDMI as well. There are 5x USB 2.0 ports, a LAN port, and it also packs a 4-in-1 card reader with support for SDHC, SD, MS and MS-pro.

The device is passively cooled, which means that you need not worry about noise, measures only 3.3 25.2 15.4 cm (LxWxH) and comes with a VESA mount which should neatly keep it out of sight.
