DCMA order to Google

Lawyers acting for the Scientology movement are trying to get Google to ban links to a site that attempts to expose it as a cult.

A copy of the take-down notice has been posted here.

It seems that the Scientologist are trying to use the Digital Millennium Copyright Act as a tool for getting www.xenu.net delisted.

The letter claims that the site breaks its copyright by publishing unauthorised Scientology material.

Its lawyers claim that posting hyperlinks to other web sites that were in violation of the DMCA, itself violated the DMCA.

"Google is providing a link to a web page which contains literally hundreds of our clients' copyrighted works and federally registered trademarks," the
letter says.
