First you lawyer up and then you get an agent

Word is that now that the former Infinity Ward leaders have lawyered up to take on Activision, they have also (in a surprising move) signed with one of the biggest Hollywood talent agencies. The duo has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA, for short), according to multiple sources.

While Creative Artists does represent a number of top game development talent, the signing of West and Zampella has to be attractive to those considering the move to sign with CAA. CAA has moved to expand into game development a few years back and have brokered deals with some of the biggest free agents in the business. Sources tell us that although the duo opted to sign with CAA, other agencies were also interested in signing them.

It would be difficult for anyone to think that either West or Zampella would have problems finding new employment, but our guess is the move to CAA is more of an effort to maximize their independence going forward, and to screen out those that are not serious from those that are serious in talking to them. There is no word yet on what the duo plan to do in the future beyond a safe bet that it will be in the video games industry, with either a new studio that they form or assuming the reigns of an existing studio.
