To arrive March 28th for $190

Nintendo will finally be rolling out the DSi XL in North America on March 28th. The DSi XL is the larger screened version of the traditional DSi. The DSi XL has been available in Japan under the name DSi LL since last year; and while it was assumed that it would launch in North America at some point, no date had been announced till today.

When the DSi XL arrives in North America it will show up in two colors to start with:  bronze and burgundy. Besides the larger screen and bigger pen-like stylus the DSi XL will come loaded with Brian Age: Arts & Letters, Brain Age: Express Math, and Photo Clock. In addition, the Flipnote Studio and DSi Browser (which are both free) will be part of the package.

While the European launch for the DSi XL is expected as well in months ahead, no definite date was announced. The DSi platform, in its fourth hardware revision, has sold a reported 125 million units worldwide. It remains to be seen how successful the unit will be in the North American market space.
