Finally, you will be able to place your order

While some of the luster and excitement has toned down a bit since the official announcement of the iPad, the next big question is when you will actually be able to buy one. As we already know, Apple said that Wi-Fi models will be shipping in late March, with the 3G models to follow sometime in April.

According to the latest whispers we hear, those that want to make sure that they get one of the first Wi-Fi iPads will be able to place their pre-order on February 25th in the Apple online store. We don’t know for sure if you will be able to place a pre-order in the actual Apple stores, as well, but Apple does normally start taking pre-orders once a product is about 30 days away from release.

We hear that the buzz is still strong on the iPad, but many people are on the fence as to which one to buy. Some that we have spoken with have said that they are going to hold out for the 3G models, as long-term that seems to be a better investment despite the fact that it is more expensive up front. We will have to wait and see if you can place your pre-order then; but it is worth a look on Thursday if you are just itching to get in line for your iPad.
