Kingston has prepared a DataTraveler treat for US customers, a 256GB flash drive. Measuring 73.7x22.2x16.1 mm, it is a bit bigger than your usual USB flash drive, it still can store the equivalent of 54 DVDs.
The new DataTraveler DT 310 features a USB 2.0 interface and has maximum read and write speeds of up ot 25MB/s and 12MB/s, which is not that bad. It is bundled with Password Traveler software and backed by a five-year warranty period.
The ugly side, of course, is the price, which stands at around US $1,100, but that those that need 256GB of storage capacity probably won't mind it. Consumers who find this one a bit too expensive can always go for the DataTraveler 200 128GB, which
sells for around US $400.
