Sky's team met up with Avatar's director

The world’s
first live 3D TV sports broadcast is due to go down on Sunday, on the English Premier League clash between Arsenal and Manchester United.

This move will be somewhat of a sneak peek before Sky’s dedicated 3D channel launch in April. The company will broadcast two feeds – one regular and the other in 3D, where each feed will feature its own commentary crew, production team, etc.

Sky’s director of operations, Darren Long, had many a praise to say about 3D TV, and in the process of making this dream a reality, the team even met with the author of Avatar, James Cameron. We just hope Sunday’s game ends up better than Avatar.

More here.
