Hollywood has found another title to exploit

According to sources, it would appear that all of the popularity of the Mass Effect franchise has not been lost on those in Hollywood looking for another video game title to exploit. Project director Casey Hudson is said to have confirmed that interest for a movie does exist.

What is unknown is which studios might be actually interested in moving forward. Sources claims that Avi Arad paid BioWare/Electronic Arts back in 2008 for option rights to create a film based on the Mass Effect franchise. Arad has previously been involved in securing the rights to comic-book properties for films in the past.

Our sources tell us that currently no script exists, and no one is in a hurry to make a bad Mass Effect movie and BioWare would rather see everyone take their time and produce something great from the Mass Effect property, rather than rush into something that is clearly not ready and isn’t faithful to the core elements of the Mass Effect franchise.
