Won't ship until at least March or April

A new chapter in the never ending saga of the Apple tablet continues, with things that we knew previously seeming to be more firmed up as time has gone on.

It would seem that even Lance Armstrong is convinced that the name for the new tablet will be the iSlate; and while the 10-inch multi-touch tablet will be manufactured by Foxconn, we think that Apple will announce it in January as we have told you previously. That said, the latest from our sources seems to indicate that it is very likely that the device will not ship until at least March (or maybe even April) depending on a lot of factors.

The iSlate, if that is what it will be called, isn't going to be cheap. Apple, however, doesn't seem too worried about that at the moment, but we will have to wait and see what happens. We don't think, however, that it is another Newton in the making; it seems that consumer demand for such a device from Apple is just too high for it to be a total flop.
