AMD obviously acknowledges the potential that stereoscopic 3D packs and the company is set to reveal the Blu-ray stereoscopic 3D standard at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show.

While Nvidia's focus on stereoscopic 3D was mostly about games, AMD seems to take a different path of delivering some serious high-fidelity 3D entertainment to consumers' homes, something previously seen only in theaters.

AMD expects Blu-ray stereoscopic 3D to hit the market in the second half of 2010 and the company is working around the clock on finalization of format specifications in order to ensure compatibility with their upcoming hardware.

So, those visiting next year's CES 2010 will get a chance to experience CyberLink's and AMD's joint preview of Blu-ray stereoscopic 3D located in the Grand Lobby (GL-8 and GL-10) of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
