Over 2 million sold in first two weeks

Despite all of the negative press, and while being backed by an extensive $25 million ad campaign, Valve and publisher Electronic Arts have already been able to move two million copies of Left 4 Dead 2 in the first two weeks of release.

Heavy black Friday sales of the title in North America saw the title price dip as low as $30 for the one-day shopping event, and this naturally played a significant role in helping boost sales. The positive reviews of the title have also contributed to the awareness of the title, making it a must buy title for this holiday season.

The company is quite pleased that with over two million copies sold so far it is ahead in sales of the original Left 4 Dead release. Of course, given the popularity of the sequel, Valve is already hinting that news will be forthcoming about the first downloadable content for the title. According to our sources (as we recently told you), it is expected that the downloadable content will feature members of the Midnight Riders, the band from the Dark Carnival level of the game.
