Many Core i7 Macs dead on arrival

Cracked screens also reported

Apple’s
Core 2 Duo based Macs reportedly feature performance glitches but the latest issue with the company’s products is far from just a glitch. Apparently, many users were pretty surprised when their new 27-inch iMac arrived with cracked screens or completely dead on arrival.

The first case seems to be a fault in the packaging, as this 13.8kg (30.5 pound) heavy beast isn’t quite easy to handle. Besides, we all know delivery companies aren’t quite concerned about your comfort, happiness or whatever their slogan says, and those packages probably took a fierce beating in the back of the truck.

The other problem also related to the new Macs is that the computer simply will not boot, and the problem seems to be as common as the cracked screen. We're not sure about the cause to this problem, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Of course, this is in no way an issue with all the 27-inch Macs, as most of them run just fine, but you should be aware for this before you have your new pet delivered to your doorstep.
