Activision has added a third dedicated team that will focus on development for the Call of Duty franchise. Currently, Infinity Ward and Treyarch are focused on Call of Duty development, but apparently this isn't enough to work on all of the things that the company has planned for the franchise.

It is unknown exactly what this third team will be focused on, and it could be anything from additional conversions of existing IP to other platforms to perhaps developing a new Call of Duty model. In the past, some have expressed the idea for the concept of a MMO COD title.

Only time will tell what Activision might have planned, but the expansion could prove helpful. It seems that gamers just can't get enough of the COD franchise and Activision, of course, wants to make sure that they are providing what the gamers are asking for.
