Asian PV module maker Motech has decided that it needs to
shift some of its operation where it can reduce costs.
Obviously the logical place is the United States where we
guess there is a large supply of cheap labour and a ready supply of people
wanting to buy. According to
DigiTimes,
Motech is likely to establish an assembly factory in the US to tap the local
market.
The factory may be located near the facilities of
Pennsylvania-based polycrystalline silicon material producer AE Polysilicon, in
which Motech has a 25.38 per cent stake.
Motech has appointed Derick Botha, former senior
executive at GE Solar and AstroPower, as VP of Business Operations to oversee
the outsourcing operation.
