Rests in bed, has some tea, lemons
According to iSuppli beancounters, the global semiconductor industry has started recovering, sort of.
The current quarter should see the first year-on-year quarterly growth
since the start of the recession. However, this is really no surprise,
as Q4 2008 was utterly horrible, but the 10-6 percent revenue jump is
good news anyway.
Shipments are still down compared to pre-recession levels. Global
semiconductor revenue is expected to contract by 16.5 percent in 2009.
The decrease in 2008 was 5.4 percent.
iSuppli expects the market to rebound to pre-recession levels in 2011
or 2012, provided the world doesn't come to an end in 2012.
