Some can get it later this month

The latest
news in the seemingly never ending saga of that which is the upcoming release of Left 4 Dead 2 comes to us in the form of an announcement that Valve will be releasing a demo for the game that will include gameplay from the “Parish” campaign which takes place in the New Orleans French Quarter.

The demo will be available for both the Xbox 360 and PC platforms and it will allow for four player co-op online or local play. The Xbox 360 version will also include the new split-screen mode to give players a taste of this feature, as well. The demo for both platforms will include all of the new weapons and boss infected zombie types which will be included in the release version of the game. Players will also be able to experience the new melee weapons, which are one of the biggest features of the new game.

How to get the demo is another matter altogether. If you are a PC user or an Xbox Live Gold member, you should be able to download the demo on November 3rd. If you happen to pre-order the game, you should get instructions from your retailer on how you can get early access to the demo starting on October 27th. We are a bit in the dark about what you should do if you have already pre-ordered it, but we suspect that you should return to the place of your pre-order to ask them for additional information on how you can get access to the demo on October 27th.

Valve also confirmed today that Left 4 Dead 2 will be arriving for both the Xbox 360 and PC on November 17th.
