Release date for North America still a mystery

The next Xbox 360 dashboard update that will deliver Facebook, Twitter, and Last.FM support as the main features of the last update for 2009 has finally received a release date in the U.K.  Xbox 360 owners in the U.K. will start getting the update on November 17th.

The recent firmware push that Microsoft made has paved the way for the update to finally be pushed out and turned up. What still remains a mystery, however, is when this update can be expected for Xbox 360 owners in North America as well as other regions.

From what we are hearing from our sources, Microsoft is shooting for a release date of November 11th for North American users, but if the testing goes well the date could be bumped up to November 3rd. The release in the U.K. seems to be confirmed for the 17th, with the other regions to start getting the update November 24th. Our sources tell us that Microsoft would like to have completed the majority of the updates by December 1st if possible.

As with anything that is with Microsoft and hard dates, it is all subject to change, depending on the testing or the mood of the company. Our sources do believe, however, that Microsoft is very keen on getting this update out for the holiday season as soon as possible, with our sources suggesting that they will be heavily promoting its existence once it is released.
