No surprise that they will get on board

News reached us that Verizon will be adding the HTC Hero as the carrier’s first Android offering. While we have known for some time that Verizon was going to get onboard the Android train, it was just a matter of time before a device was selected to be the actual first offering.

The Hero will arrive in November, and from what we are already hearing the buzz is already very strong on this one. According to our sources, Verizon has worked with HTC to make a few modifications to the hardware in an effort to improve the device; and we are hearing the changes really work well.

In addition to the HTC Hero, which we are hearing will arrive first at Verizon in November, we hear whispers of the fact that the Verizon will be offering one of the new Motorola Android models as well. While we hear it might, in fact, be the Motorola Sholes, we have been unable to confirm that this is actually the case. It does appear that Verizon is going to give Android a try and see what consumer reaction is, but it could be tough sledding this holiday season with so many devices from which consumers have to choose.
