Taiwan's Asustek and IBM said in a statement Tuesday they
have agreed to cross-license patents.
Not only will the move end all legal wrangles between the
pair on Patents, but it will serve as a basis for future collaboration, they
said.
In April 2008, Asustek filed a patent infringement
lawsuit against IBM claiming Big Blue had infringed two of its patents, one
related to Internet storage technologies and the other to server technologies.
IBM had previously filed a complaint to the US
International Trade Commission alleging patent violations by Asustek.
