No surprise that he will co-headline the title

In a move that came as a shock to no one, since we already told you that it was going to happen, MMA legend Randy Couture has signed with Electronic Arts to co-headline the new EA Sports MMA title with Fedor Emelianenko.

Couture is a recognized MMA legend, having been in the sport for over ten years, and has helped grow the sport in a number of fights that are considered legendary by today’s standards. Couture has had a reputation over the years of taking on all comers, using his ground pounding style to strike opponents into submission.

The signing of Couture by EA was not really that big of a surprise, as Couture had previously worked with EA on the Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 where he starred as Commander Warren Fuller. Having previously worked with EA, insiders had been saying all along that Couture would be a big part of an MMA title that EA would do.

Sources tell us that the development of the new MMA title at EA Sports is moving right along and is expected to be released on schedule. According to our sources, EA is not done signing talent for the new title; and in addition to Couture, EA has also signed Jay “The Thoroughbred” Hieron to appear in the title, as well, with additional roster announcements to be made soon.
