Brutal Legend settlement reached
Double Fine & EA to press forward with release
In what can only be described as a surprising move, developer Double Fine would appear to have cut some sort of deal with Activision over Brutal Legend. The hearing scheduled for today was canceled at the last minute.
While it is not totally clear what kind of agreement exactly has been reached, the fact (as we told you previously) that the Judge in the case indicated that he was leaning toward ruling in Double Fine’s favor clearly played into the decision.
With this drama now cleared up, it has paved the way for Double Fine and Electronic Arts to move toward the release of Brutal Legend. Recently, the buzz about Brutal Legend, which features the voice talents of comedian Jack Black, has been quite strong; and the game looks to have the potential to do quite well. We expect to see it on retailer shelves in October.
