Optional filter can tone down the content

In a move that is something that many are likely to emulate in the future if it becomes popular, Brutal Legend will offer the option to turn on a content filter which will tone down both the audio and visual content to a level closer to a “T” rating, rather than the standard “M” rating that the title will carry with the filter turned off.

The filter concept could prove to be popular, as Tim Shaffer suggests that it allows people who want to enjoy the game with their kids now can. In addition, it also allows the player to also filter out the gore in the title for those who simply don’t care for it. Besides, Shaffer says that the filtering of the content can be quite funny and some will get a laugh out of the way that the game filters the content.
