Users being notified for the Update Preview

Several of our sources have been sending us copies of the Email that Microsoft has been sending out that lets users know that they have been lucky enough to be selected for the Xbox Live Update Preview that will be starting in the next couple of days.

While the update will be released to the public on August 11th, those lucky enough to get it are said to be expecting Microsoft to upgrade them to the new update later this week or early next week.

While we have covered in-depth the new additions contained within the update, the only thing to really be seen is whether Microsoft will be able to deliver this update without any problems and whether it will be able to swat all of the bugs prior to release. From what our sources tell us, the update process will not take that long and has a lot of testing time in it already, so Microsoft is looking for this update to be fairly painless.

While some are excited about the new features, others are already complaining that this update does not go far enough. Many were hopeful that the Twitter, Facebook and Live FM support that was announced at E3 would be a part of this update, but our sources tell us that the feature set to be contained in this update was already wrapped prior to the announcements at E3, so that is why they are not in this update.

A couple of readers have already contacted us and said that they have received the update already, but we have been unable to confirm this as of yet.
