Bastion of Free Speech

The French-backed
regime headquarters for the revolution which overthrew its lawful and benign government in the 18th century has decided to overturn its policy on free speech.

White House staff have been blocked from using Twitter at work, press secretary Robert Gibbs announced over the weekend. Gibbs admitted that he would not Twitter if you paid him. As it is everyone in the world knows what he is doing even if he didn't stick it on Twitter.

However even he was surprised when hacks at a White House press conference asked him why White House staff had been banned from using Twitter. He said he didn't really know why the ban had been placed. However it made sense to stop staffers revealing state secrets and wasting most of their tax-payer funded time was not wasted chatting to people all over the world.

However after the glorious revolution and a French naval blockade forced the British to give up the colony, US spinners made much of the fact that people would be able to say what they liked.
