Although NPD researchers claim video game sales were down 23 percent last month, Nintendo still seems to be doing quite well.
In fact, game sales for Nintendo's Wii and DS platforms accounted for almost 50 percent of total top 10 sales in may, with 1,292,500 copies sold. The outfit is also doing well in console sales. The Nintendo DS leads the pack with 633,500 units sold, while the runner-up Wii sold 289,500 times in may.
Microsoft's Xbox X360 and Sony's Playstation 3 sales were 175,000 and 131,000 units respectively. The ancient Playstation 2 did quite well, with 117,000 units shipped, while the PSP saw sales of 100,400 units.
