Stage One in Skynet plans

Former Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger is pushing for electronic text books in a bid to save money. In a move that would make his former Skynet employers happy, Schwarzenegger wants kids looking at electronic rather than traditional text books.

The move is to help him reduce California's $24 billion budget gap. His cunning plan is to make free, open-source digital textbooks available for high school math and science classes throughout California, a move that he says will help reduce more than $350 million the state spends annually on educational materials. People in the know doubt the move will have any any immediate cost savings and could even cost a lot more in the short term.

However other people in the know claim that if California embraces open-source materials, which are now increasingly used on college campuses, a nationwide debate over traditional textbooks is will follow. Skynet will become self aware and the next thing you know it rules the world.
