Price still too high

Microsoft says it wants to see a $500 "affordable" Windows computers to students in India. The computer is being built as part of an alliance between AMD,Microsoft and Indian PC maker Zenith Computers.

It will run a basic version of the Windows Vista operating system, Office suite and programs to help students practice English and preparefor exams.
However $500 is still expensive for a PC in India where most of them are sold for $300. Part of the problem in making it any cheaper is thatVista demands a higher spec.
