For those of you that are Verizon BlackBerry Storm owners, the long awaited update to the version 4.7 OS looks to be finally ready to happen. The .148 version of the 4.7 OS is in technical acceptance testing, and from the whispers we hear, it is expected to pass and be released.

The needed update has been a thorn in Verizon's eye since the Storm was released. Several bugs have been driving owners crazy; and not being able to get an update that Verizon would pass for acceptance has been more difficult than expected. From what we have been told, Verizon wants to make sure that they get this version of the OS right, and have been trying to make sure that it is right by taking extra time to make sure.

While it is possible that it could get delayed again if another bug is found, we hear how the problems that stopped the last update dead in its tracks have been fixed, so it is a bit more likely that this update should make it out the door. While we don’t know the specific details of this build, we suspect that we will be able to get some additional details once we get closer to an actual release.
