Gamer enhanced PC-P50

Lian-Li has announced a new addition to its Armorsuit series called the PC-P50R which is  a slightly more customized version of the PC-50 with a window, a dragon logo and red interior in contrast to the more plain PC-P50.

At 495x490x210mm (HxDxW) we're talking about fairly big cases here, and the nine 5.25-inch drive bays further high lights the size of these cases, although three of them are taken up by a drive cage for three 3.5-inch drive bays. For those interested in building a quad SLI or CrossFire system, this case might have some extra appeal as well, as it has eight expansion slots in the back, so with the right motherboard, you could fit four dual slot graphics cards into this case.

All the rear slots also have quick release latches and even the PSU is installed with the help of a special bracket that snaps in place. Likewise the hard drives clip into trays that are then slotted into the drive cage. The case is supplied with a front and rear mounted 120mm fan, as well as a pair of top mounted 140mm fans. It's a bit disappointing that the front ports only consist of a pair of USB 2.0 ports and a pair of audio jacks. We'd also like to have seen twice as many hard drive bays, as three 3.5-inch bays just isn't enough.

We also find it hard that to justify the cost of the PC-P50R, as Lian-Li will be asking for about €313 for it when it becomes available later this month.
