X-Slim series to account for about 50% of shipments

Digitimes is reporting that MSI is expected to ship a total of 4.5 million notebooks this year. This is an increase of about 50 percent compared to the three million units shipped last year.

According to Chinese Economic Daily News, MSI's new series of CULV-based X-Series notebooks will account for around half of the shipments. The first X-Slim series products are already starting to show up in the US market, while Europe should expect them sometime in early May.

So far only the 13.4-inch X-Slim X320 and X340 have been officially launch. They will be followed by the 15.6-inch X600, as well as some 11.6-inch and 14.1-inch products in the future.
