OCZ announced its first mini-PCIe SSD series for netbooks and it will be available in 16 and 32GB flavors and in both SATA and PATA flavors.

SATA version has 110MB/s read and 51MB/s write speeds whereas the PATA upgrade comes with 45MB/sec read and 35MB/s write speeds.

In the press release, OCZ also mentioned that these are affordable alternatives to traditional drives, but we’ll wait until we see the pricing before putting the word “affordable” next to an SSD drive.

The drives are compatible with XP, Vista and Win 7 as well as Mac OSX10. You can find out more about these drives on their respective product pages here (SATA) and here (PATA).
