Fewer people on unpaid leave in Taiwan

Is the economy already improving?

According to Digitimes, fewer people are now on unpaid leave in the Taiwanese science parks which is suggesting a change in the amount of orders being placed for the various components being manufactured there.

Hopefully this will continue and it's suggesting that there's a global upturn, at least in terms of component orders. Considering that only last month as many as 108,000 people were on unpaid leave and this month that figure has dropped to 44,000, it looks like things are about to change for the better.

We doubt this has anything to do with the various government stimulus packages and it seems to be more of a case that the electronics and IT goods manufacturers are still seeing a demand for their products.
